 Authentic Shahi Paneer Recipe: From Indian Cuisine

Introduction:

Shahi paneer is a very popular dish in India.I think it originated from Mughalai cuisine. Overall, this Makhani dish is the soul of Indian cuisine today. It is the most popular dish eaten during festivals especially in North India.
 Perfect for special occasions or when you want to treat yourself to something indulgent, Shahi Paneer is sure to delight your taste buds with its royal essence.

Ingredients:
– 250 grams paneer, cut into cubes
– 2 large onions, finely chopped
– 2 tomatoes, pureed
– 10 to 12 cashews soaked in water.
– 1/4 cup cream
– 1/4 cup milk
– 2 tablespoons Butter or oil
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
– 1/2 teaspoon kasuri Methi  Crushed 
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Shahi Paste:
– Grind the soaked cashew nuts with a little water to form a smooth paste. Set aside.

2. Fry the Paneer:
– Heat 1 tablespoon of Butter or oil in a pan on medium Flame
– You can lightly fry the paneer or use it without frying it.

3. Make the Shahi Sauce:
– In same pan, add a  tablespoon of Butter or oil.
-Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cumin seeds for a few moments.
-After that add finely chopped onion and fry it till it turns brown .

4. Add Spices:
-Then stir the ginger garlic paste in the vessel until the aroma comes out .
-Then add turmeric, coriander, red chili powder, mix and cook well. .

5. Incorporate Tomato Puree:
– Now add the grinded tomato puree and cook well until the oil separates.

6. Blend in Shahi Paste:
– Add the prepared cashew nut paste and mix well with the masala. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

7. Create Creamy Base:
– Reduce the heat to low.Now add cream and milk little by little and mix it while stirring.

8. Season and Simmer:
-Now add garam masala, salt, crushed kasuri methi and cook well .
-Add paneer or fried paneer here and stir it for a while so that the paneer absorbs the spices well.

9. Garnish and Serve:
– Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
– Serve Shahi Paneer hot with naan, roti, or steamed rice.
